EFry Record Suspension Clinic
The EFry Clinic
In partnership with Pro Bono Dalhousie, we offer a criminal record suspension and vital statistics clinic to identified women, girls, non-binary, and gender diverse individuals who have experienced incarceration. The challenges of community re-entry can impact employment, education, travel, and personal relationships. Through the clinic, we work to remove the barriers that make it difficult for people with criminal records to turn their lives around.
Dalhousie law students will help clients navigate the record suspension process by answering questions, determining eligibility, and assisting with applications. A record suspension (previously known as a pardon) separates a criminal record from the regional level and returns a clear criminal record check. Our clinic also offers support for vital statistic applications for a name change, sex designation change, obtaining government identification, and more.
